Ameri-Flex OCRS Sprints coming to Enid Speedway Saturday

 

By John Rittenoure - ENID, Oklahoma (October 1, 2018) - Sprint car racing returns to Enid Speedway on Saturday when the Ameri-Flex Hose and Accessories / OCRS Sprint Car Series invades the Garfield County 3/8’s mile oval.

 

Open-wheel racing has a long history in Enid dating back to the 1960’s when super modifieds raced here weekly. The winged sprinters of the OCRS will is sure to bring some memories back to mind for many veteran fans.

 

Alex Sewell of Broken Arrow is the current OCRS series points leader and will be looking to keep his points lead intact. Defending champion and three-time winner Zach Chappell is 71 points behind Sewell in second. Mickey Walker of Sapulpa, Sheldon Barksdale of Norman and Joe Bob Lee from Cache round out the top five.

 

The sprinters will run a 25-lap feature that will $1,500 to the winner.

 

In addition to the OCRS sprints, Sooner Modifieds, Sport Mods and Pure Stocks will be racing.
